Bottlepay now support another lightning invoice type called zero-value invoices. πŸŽ‰

How do lightning invoices usually work?

Usually, when creating a lightning invoice, the person who wants to be paid creates the invoice and decides the amount that they want to be paid. Standard lightning invoices can only be paid once and they expire after 1 hour. But what if you want to receive a tip or leave it online so that lots of people can pay you and decide how much they want to pay?

Enter zero-value invoices πŸ’ͺ

Zero-value invoices allow the recipient to share an invoice with no initial value. Anyone who finds it can use it to pay you and can decide how much they want to send.

How do I pay a zero-value lightning invoice?

Just press 'Send' in the app as usual and when you scan a zero-value lightning invoice, you will be prompted to enter the amount you wish to pay. (Just like making an on-chain payment.)
