We now support another lightning invoice type called zero-value invoices. 🎉

How do lightning invoices usually work?

Usually, when creating a lightning invoice, the person who wants to be paid creates the invoice and decides the amount that they want to be paid. But what if you want to receive a tip or leave it to the person paying to decide how much they want to pay?

Enter zero-value invoices 💪

Zero-value invoices allow the recipient to share an invoice with no initial value. The person paying can then decide how much they want to send.

How do I pay a zero-value lightning invoice?

Just press 'Send' in the app as usual and when you scan a zero-value lightning invoice, you will be prompted to enter the amount you wish to pay. (Just like making an on-chain payment.)
