This article will show you how to deposit bitcoin on-chain or by lightning. For help choosing between an on-chain deposit and a lightning network deposit, please see our guide.

  • Select 'FUND' from the home page.

  • Next, choose 'Bitcoin'.

  • Next, tap 'Deposits'.

Let's start with on-chain deposits

For on-chain deposits, you will see a bitcoin address that you can use to receive your bitcoin. The address is provided in two formats:

  1. A standard bitcoin address (a long string of numbers and letters). Tap the copy icon and paste it into your 3rd party Bitcoin wallet to initiate a payment.

  2. A QR code (a fancy way of representing your bitcoin address). You can use other bitcoin wallets to scan it to avoid potential copying / mistyping errors. Tap the QR code icon and tap 'Share QR code' to copy/share the image.

⏱️ Please note that On-chain deposits can take up to an hour to process 3 confirmations.

Lightning deposits

Lightning address deposits

Your lightning address is like an email address for bitcoin payments. Simply tap the copy icon next to your Lightning address and paste it into your 3rd party Bitcoin wallet to initiate a payment.

Reusable QR code

  1. A lightning LNURL address (another long string of numbers and letters). Again you can tap the copy icon and paste it into your 3rd party Bitcoin wallet to initiate a payment.

  2. A QR code is a fancy way of representing your bitcoin address; this time a lightning address. You can use other bitcoin wallets to scan it. This avoids potential copying / mistyping errors. Tap the QR code icon and tap 'Share QR code' to copy/share the image.
